When you need a purpose, set a goal. When you don't, set one anyway.

If you are just starting your life, just old enough to read, or in your 30s and still not sure where life will lead you, this was written just for you .  It is not a direction or a necessity, just a word of wisdom:  Set a goal and GO!

Goals don't have to be daunting.   A wise person once told me that the best goal is one that you can accomplish.   Make goals that you can attain.   It is an AMAZING feeling to reach a goal.  It is an accomplishment!  It is success!  There is joy in knowing that you have mastered something, and reached an end and WON!  Goal setting is a beautiful thing masterfully designed by the individual setting it.   The best thing about goal setting is that you are in control.  This is also the hardest thing.   If your goal is too big, you set yourself up for failure; too small and you find it boring to reach for.

Life Lesson #103:  Name your purpose by setting goals and seeing them through.

  1. Identify your dreams/desires.   [What is one thing you would LOVE to achieve?  What would bring you joy/happiness/etc?]
  2. Break down your dream into steps   [What do you need to get there?]
  3. Choose a SMALL goal.  [Set yourself a goal to get only to the first step.   Start small!!!]
  4. Go!  [don't delay, start today!  Time doesn't wait.  Why should you?!  Nothing happens without motion!]
  5. Finish strong.  [ starting a good habit takes time...but also persevere.   It will pay off.  You will feel amazing when you reach the goal.
  6. Celebrate your success!  [celebrate, but do not tarry.  Get ready to move while you still feel the high of success!]
  7. Repeat step 3-6.   When you are ready, increase the size of your goal.  OR if you are a big picture person, work on more than one small goal at once keeping that overarching dream in focus.
